Gwen's Birthday and Valentine's Day

January Fun

We had a cold spell this month, but we have also had many relative warm days.  We have had fun riding bikes, having a tea party in the bright sun and riding ponies at the nearby Irvine Park.  Patience is now 9 months old and likes holding onto the steering wheel of her coupe.

Snow vacation

The Kenney's invited us and Kathy to their ranch home for a couple of days near Mt. Shasta in northern California. Jonathan and his wife Whitney are shown half-way down in the pictures. We rode ATV's to a ridge so that we could see Mt. Shasta. Steve had never drove a ATV before. We also went skeet shooting with Jonathan.  Whitney and Kathy made Elk tamales with meat which Jonathan shot near Laketown last year.

Hunter liked pulling his train on the sled. All of the children really had fun playing in the snow outside the home. Hunter and Gwen wanted to bring their beach shovels to dig in the snow. On the way home we stopped at old town Sacramento and saw a pony express rider statue and the Christmas tree at the state capital.
