5th Anniversary

For our 5th wedding anniversary, we took a cruise in the San Diego Harbor. We noticed a statue next to the Midway aircraft carrier museum about that 'end of world war II kiss' in New York. The next day we visited the remodeled Mormon Battalion visitor center where Hunter and Gwendolyn got to pan for gold. Earlier in the week we visited a large Christmas tree in a local mall, which my sister Diane had told us about.

Thanksgiving

We enjoyed having Marianne's family visit for Thanksgiving: Ken and Kathryn, Roy and Kathy, and Becky and Jim. We put together a fussball game and we had a lot of fun with it and with WII. We, Ken and Kathryn also went to the nearby Nixon Library where there were neat model train exhibits. Hunter loves trains and looked at them for about two hours.

Halloween

We had a lot of fun on Halloween. Hunter's pre-school teacher dressed up as a ginger-bread man and Hunter dressed up as a lion. We had fun visiting family and trick or treating in our neighborhood.

School Starts

Hunter has now started pre-school, where Marianne takes him for 2 hours each weekday at 8:15am. Hunter is getting some speech therapy because his speech development is a little behind his average peer. When Hunter's tonsils were taken out in January, we learned that he had quite a bit of water behind his ear drums, which was probably a reason for his speech development delay. Ear drain tubes were added at that time.

Last weekend we were invited to a retreat for families at an education center near our home, put on by a county non-profit organization. While Marianne and Steven went to child development seminars between meals, Hunter and Gwendolyn were taken care of by volunteers.
