School Starts

Hunter has now started pre-school, where Marianne takes him for 2 hours each weekday at 8:15am. Hunter is getting some speech therapy because his speech development is a little behind his average peer. When Hunter's tonsils were taken out in January, we learned that he had quite a bit of water behind his ear drums, which was probably a reason for his speech development delay. Ear drain tubes were added at that time.

Last weekend we were invited to a retreat for families at an education center near our home, put on by a county non-profit organization. While Marianne and Steven went to child development seminars between meals, Hunter and Gwendolyn were taken care of by volunteers.

Busy early August

We got to go to Mormon night at Angel Stadium and Gwendolyn looks like she was studying the game for a moment. Kathy's sister, Cherie, came to a Single's Conference and visited a couple days. Marianne got to visit Kathy's family before the school year begins. Hunter will be going to pre-school this year. We had a visit from Steven's cousin Miriam and her husband Dave. Hunter's cousins, Anna Alise and Kate, are looking at a monarch butterfly.

Kelsey's Wedding and Lillywhite Reunion

We appreciated staying at Frank and Amy's so that we could attend Kelsey's wedding. After Kelsey's reception we realized that we had a flat tire and appreciate Fred and Keith quickly helping us to change our tire. We enjoyed being outdoors at Zion with family. The last picture is Gwendolyn on a push toy on Steven's parent's backyard patio. She is holding a little pumpkin that a care giver grew in the back yard.

Birthday at the Beach

On Steven's birthday yesterday, the ward had a beach party and we went to it. It helped us relax from our assignment of giving talks today. The waves at Huntington Beach are alittle stronger than other beaches, so they scared Hunter a little. Gwendolyn really got wet in that one wave.

Sqweaky Shoes

Frank and Amy visited us and for fun we walked around Downtown Disney. We visited Steven's parents for Father's Day. Hunter is getting some weekly speech and swimming lessons. Marianne wanted Gwendolyn to have some squeaky shoes so that she would not get under foot in the kitchen. The video below shows Gwendolyn's first happy steps in the shoes.

Making new friends

These are some of the activities that Hunter participated in at a center for early childhood development. Hunter was able to go there for a couple of months, to help increase his speech skills.
